HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF GOVERNORS.
The regular monthly meeting of the High School Bjard of Governors was held on Thursday, and was attended by Dr Stuart (chairman), Rev. A. R. Fifcchetfc, Messrs G. G. Russell, Eraser, and the Mayor' of Ounedin (Mr C. Haynes).A' letter was received from the Registrar of, the Canterbury College, giving information as to the mode of collecting school fees. "The lessee of .section 16, block V, Mokoreta, wrote applying ''or' a" reduction' of rent. — The application was declined. The' Secretary of the Strath-Taieri Domain' Board wrote thanking the board for the formal reservation of a recreation ground. The ' communication stated that, owing to the want of a proper title; the Domain Board had reluctantly decided to dissolve. The Secretary stated' that he had furnished certain information asked for by the Timaru High Schools Board 'respecting the Dunedin High Schools.' The Rector of the Boys' High School wrote reporting on the attendance for the half year, and stating that the next quarter commenced on the 25th inst.- ' " ■ > An application from Mr D. M'Bratney to transfer section 1, block 11, Strath-Taieri, to Mr William Hcrcus was gianted. It was resolved . bat the secretary prepare a return, showing tne occupation of parents of scholars, the number of tree scholars, and the nature of the scholarship Jn each case. Accounts and salaries amounting to £728 6s lOd were' passed for payment.
