The Wairarapa Trotting Club's meeting will be held on June 1, and nominabions closed on Wednesday, May 10. W. M'Kenzie, of Carterton, is secretary bo the club.
The United Hunb Club, disappointed of their runs lately, have decided to try the introduction of polo on thi3 coasb. This, says bhe Manawatu Times, has had the effect of turning the attention of sporting men to the breeding of ponies, and already inquiries are being made for Arab stallions. One gentleman in Raßgitikei has commissioned an Indian buyer to procure for him au Arab thoroughbred. The Wairarapa Huut Club will hold sports afc Masterbon on the Queen's Birthday. Mr W. Napier, who acted as caretaker of the Hutt racecourse during last season, has severed his connection wibh bhe racing club, and Mr E. C. White, who was some years ago in charge of bhe Island Bay course, has been appointed in his place. He will start on hi 3 new dubie3 in a few days.
