and velvet ; medium quality not easily placed. Prime quality saleable at 2s 9d to 2s lOd; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Fowls' wheat : Good, whole grain, 2s 3d to 2s 4d ; medium, Is lid to 2s Id. Barley : Chevalier, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; Cape, 2a 9d to 3s, forimalting qualities. Oats have very good inquiry and are easily placed off trucks. We quote : Good milling, Is BJd to Is 9Jd ; prime short feed, Is 8d to Is 9d ; other sorts, Is 7d to Is Bd. Ryecorn : We are shipping per Mamari, leaving Port Chalmers about June 14. Any lots forwarded to Port Chalmers to our care will receive prompt attention. Hops, Is f.o.b. Nelson. Potatoes : Good Derwents, 655, and wanted (supplies short during the week); other qualities, 45s to 47s 6d. We could dispose of a few trucks. Pigs have fair inquiry, 4Jd to 4Jd for suitable Bizes and quality. Chaff : Supply in excess of demand, prime, 45s to 50s ; good, 40s to 42s 6d. Salt butter : Demand quiet, 7£d to Bd, packages extra. Cheese in better demand : Akaroa (large), 4Jd to 4£d ; factory, 4£d to sd. We could place good quality. Hams and bacon : Bacon (roiled), 6Jd ; hams, 9d ; sides, 6Jd. Honey : Extracted, 561b tins, 4jd to 5d ; other sorts from 3Jd to 4id. Grass seeds : Ryegrass, 2s to 2s 6d ; machined up to 3s 3d ; old pasture to 3s 9d ; cocksfoot, 2Jd to 4d. Rabbitskins have our special attention, and top prices are returned. Summers, 7d to B£d ; autumns, Bid to lid ; incoming, lljd to Is Id ; early winter greys, 13Jd to 14Jd. Ryecorn : We shipped over 700 sacks per Rangatira to Hamburg, via London, with a through freight of 35s per ton. We would draw your attention that the mutton sold at the Berlin Central Meat Market at 40 phennige per lb is only 5d sterling, and not 6d, as reported in your paper, which is of great difference to the shipper. '
