OTAUTAU.
April 29.— During the past few weeks we have had magnificent weather, and threshing operations are ibeing pushed vigorously ahead. The yields are satisfactory though not extraordinary, but the prices, unfortunately, are neither the one nor the other. Stock of all descriptions are thriving well, feed being abundant and the season mild and dry. Turnips have done best on deep land, those on ridgy and shingly ground having suffered somewhat from the drought. Farmers are busily engaged carting their grain. The roads are as dry as in midsummer, and the goods sheds are blocked full with the fruits of the earth. Special trains for grain have to be run from time to time in order to the accumulation. There is little of general interest to write about at present, but I trust in my next to be able to give more news.
