SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETINGS.
The newly-elected Broad Bay School Committee met on Friday evening. PresentMessrs Clearwater, Morris, M'Lennan, Ward, Gwyn, Nyhon, and Scott. Mr Clearwater was •unanimously elected chairman for the year, and Mr Huie clerk and treasurer. Messrs M'Lennan and Gwyn were appointed a Works Committee. It was agreed that the first Saturday of every month' be fixed for ordinary meetings. •The Upper Junction School Committee met in the schoolhouse on Friday night, all the members being present. Mr Isaac Green was elected chairman, Mr H. Bennett treasurer, Mr John Paisley clerk. Accounts amounting to £2 18s 6d -were passed for payment. It was resolved to call for tenders for cleaning the school during the next 12 months. Messrs D. M'Greger and Bennett were appointed a Visiting Committee for the month of May. The chairman and Messrs Sinclair and Paisley were appointed a Works Committee. At the first meeting of the Mosgiel School Committee Mr James Miller was reappointed chairman and Mr R. Findlay clerk.
