THE OTAGO CRICKETERS' TOUR,
THE<HAWKE'S BAY MATCH.
There was beautiful weather at Napier on the 20th for the first day of the cricket match Otago v. Hawko's Bay. The wicket waß in splendid order, and greatly pleased the visitors. Otago won the toss and elected to bat. They played consistently and got well hold of the bowling, all but three getting into double . figures. Smith was the most successful bowler, getting seven wickets for 65 runs. At 3.45 Otago were all out for 175. Hawke's Bay then took the wicketa, and when the stumps were drawn at 5 o'clock had lost five of the best wickets for 26. The bowliDg of the visitors completely floored them, Hope securing two wickets for two run", while Lawton and Fisher also were most difficult to negotiate, the latter taking two wickets for 11.
