S ALE OF THE THOROUGHBRED STALLION TORRENT.
Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report hfrving sold privately, on account of Mr Henry James Tasker, of Ashburtou, the well-known thoroughbred stallion Torrent (formerly the late Hon. M, Robinson's), at a high figure, to Mr William Martin, of Gore. Torrent is by Apre•mont—imported from England — and i 3 out of Wate'rsprite— dam of Doris, Water Nymph, Water King, Stonyhurst, Water Queen, Waterman, Water B«by, Nenuphar, &c. Watersprite herself is by Traducer (imp.) out of Waterwitch, by Caniden, out of imported Mermaid by King Tom. ' For fashionable breeding aud for good looks- as well, Mr Martin has certainly secured in Torrent, as a sire, a horse that would be very bard to beat.
