Mr Skene reports under date September 20 :— It is a good thing that the prospects for country workers keep so encouraging. Well-trained farm and station people, married and singlo, are soon picked up, butour youngmenaretoo impatientand too much given to wandering. Shepherds should be moving soon. Milkers are much wanted, and the demand increases every season. Work and wages in town are misnomers these times and there will not bo much improvement until confidence comes back, relaxing the purse strings. Country wages keep steady.
