We land Sydney fruit at the end of the week, and intend offering it by auction as soon as landed. The last week has been the busiest we have ever had, and satisfies us that thope who are croaking about bad times are doing so without reason. We are convinced that if farmers would pay more attention to fruit and dairy produce, instead of perpetually growing potatoes and en" 11 ? things would soon be better all round. | Already we have several shipping inquiries for butter from those who dealt with us last season, and as prices open up Jd to Id better than last year the outlook is a bright one. We strongly 1 urge the exclusive use of parchment-lined boxes, which we can supply at Is fid each ; also small boxes for fresh butter at 3s, and cases to carry 25 dozen eggs, without packing, at,-2s fid. Those latter will soon repay their cosC and we recommend their use. Potatoes are a drug. The brisk demand we experienced for furniture, pianos, and organs shows times are not altogether bad in the town itself. To-morrow at 11 we sell woolsacks, twine, and flour ; in the afternoon at 2, Indian chairs, piano, and some superb furniture, which we must clear. On Friday we hold our usual weekly sale of poultry and produce at 11 o'clock.
