FIXTURES. July 21, 22— Champion Stake (Oamaru). August 17, 18, 19. — Champion Stakes, Maiden Stakes, Sapling Stakes (Dunedin). August 25— Ladies' Bracelet (Oamaru). NOTES BY MASTER M'GRATH. Cardigan is to be spelled till next season. Mr H. L. James has kindly compiled for me the following statement, showing the net amounts won by dogs at the Dunedin Plumpton meetings since the inauguration of the Plumpton in 1888 :—

Mr Wise's Carbine, who heads the list, made up his winnings by six contributions, the first dating so far back as August 1890, but his principal success was in July a year ago, when he netted LlO3 10s by winning the Waterloo Cup in which Mariner was the runner-up. Flora, who comes second on tho list, is also a Waterloo winner ; she annexed this stake for Mr Gardiner in 1890, bhe proceeds being LBS 10s, and six smaller amounbs bring her up to the total named. Mr Taylor's magnificent slut Bess Morley has won money only three times at the Forbury, but each time she got right through the stake. Her first success was in the Bracelet at tho Waterloo Cup meeting of 1891, when Biddy Alone was runner-up ; her second win was iv the May Cup, two months ago, when Heart of Grace ran up ; and the third was in the Grand National Cup a week or two ago, when " Lanky" was tho last one she put down. Sailor Boy captured his Lll7 at one pop in the Waterloo Cup of 1888, and Imposfcer also took his Lll2 10s in one piece, in the Waterloo Cup of 1889. These are the five dogs that have won more than LIOO on this ground. As to the number of times that dogs have had something to take on the division of the spoil, Mr Mills' clever slut Fugue heads the list in that respect, having won money eight times. Flora and Smoko are bracketed with seven dips into the lucky bag ; Carbine, Emir Bey, Newton, Presto, and Watermark have each won money six times ; and Beadonwell, Cora Lynn, Gordon, lona, Ivanhoo, Kiwi, Kingask, Laburnum, Rotomahana, and Stormy Night have had a finger iv the pie five times each. There is some talk of Mr R. Blackham retiring. A Melbourne cablegram states that the Waterloo Cup was won by Belgravia, the runner-up being Christopher North. The Purse was won by Catherine Hayes, with Harkaway as runner-up ; and the Plate by Trafalgar, with Teuton runner-up.
