The Taranaki J.C Autumn meeting was held to-day in fine weather. The attendance was large. Results : — Handicap Hack Hurdle Race, of one mile and a-quarter.— Mr J. J. Russell's Flukem, 9.10, 5: Mr W. Black's Cingalese, 10.12, 2; Mr J. McCarthy's Baccarat, 3. Time, 2min 33sec. Dividend, L 4 Bs. J. C. Handicap, of 250sovs. One mile and ahalf.—Mr H. Hill's Prestige, 7.0, 1 ; Mr M'Kinnon's Scot Free, 8.2, 2 ; Mr J. Kennedy's St. Malo, 6.9, 3. Whisper 8.10, {Lochness 7.12, Krina 7.6, The Dreamer 7.5, Weka 7.3, and Awarua Rose 6.12 also ran. Won by half a length. Time, 2min 39 2-ssec. Dividend, L7 l2s. Welter Handicap, of 50sovs. Onemile. — Mr R. M'Rae's Torpedo, 9.7, 1 ; Mr J. Kennedy's St. Malo, 9.7, 2 ; Mr J. Dime's Musket, 8.7, 3. The second day's races were well attended. The weather was showery, The handicapping proved very successful, and Mr J. O. Evett, the. handioapper, was cheered. Results :—: —
Grand Stand Handicap. Seven furlongs.— Wekal, Heather Bell 2, Torpedo 3. Time, lmin 31 3-ssec. Dividend, Ls l3s. Ladies' Bracelet. One mile and a-half .— The Dreamer 1, Durus 2, Tattler 3. Won by a short neck. Time, 2min KSJsec. Dividend, LI 11s. Autumn Handicap. One mile and a quarter.— Prestige, 8.1, 1 : Heather Bell, 6.11, 2 ; Scot Free. 8.8, 3. Also started Whisper, Krina, and St. Malo. The race was well contested. Time, 2min 12 2-ssoc. Dividend, L 3 ss. Farewell Handicap. Six furlongs. Torpedo 1, Weka 1, Fleta 3. St. Malo, Musket, and Snapcap also started. A grand race \ Won by a short nose. Time, lmin 17 4-saoc. Dividend, L2 lss.
