February B.— On Friday evening the sunset was peculiar, the sun as he sank to rest having the appearance of a perfect ball of fire. Saturday was a lovely day, but towards night the sky became black with clouds, the air turned cold, there was a clap or two of thunder, and then down ciime the rain. It has rained pretty steadily until this morning with a heavy east wind. Witli the long spell of dry weather, and the heavy traffic on the roads lately, the dust was lying very thick.
