The Rules of Racing of the Metropolitan Club of the district will be strictly adhered to, both as regards the racing and the working of the Totalisator. The Trotting Races will be run under the rules of the New Zealand Trotting Association. District horses and owners to be resident in the district for at least three calendar months prior to the day of the races. District to mean within a radius of 15 miles of Bcngcr crossing ; distance to be reckoned by main road. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the races shall" be decided by the stewards, or a majority of them ; their decision on all points to be final. Entries received only on these conditions. An} r person lodging a protest to deposit the sum of L 2 with the Secretary, the same to be forfeited should the protest be considered frivolous or vexatious.
