A VISITING M.P.
Auckland, Ootober 27. Among the passengers by the Talune from Sydney is Mr Logan, M.P. for Hat borough division of Leicestershire. He leaves to-morrow for the Lake country with his parky, and will make a toar of New Zealand, going on to Melbourne, and returning Home via the P. and 0. line to attend to his Parliamentary duties. Mr Logan desires to make himself acquainted with the colonies, nearly all of which he has visited. He is & large railway contractor, employing 3000 men. Mr Logan ia a Liberal. He does not think the death of Mr Parnell will have the slightest effect on the relations of the contending political parties. His belief is that at the next general election a great advance wiU be made towards Home Rule, and that it will be brought within measurable distance, if not wholly achieved. Referring to the alliance between the Conservatives and the Liberal Unionists, he states he does not understand men talking Liberalism and then walking into the lobby with the Toriea.
