Otago Chess Olub. Tb« annual general meeting of the members of the Otago Chess Olub was held in the Australian Matual Provident Society's Buildings on Saturday, the 11th inst.. at 9 p.m. The annual report showed that the membership of the olub had increased during the past year— due to a great extent to the fact that the clubroom is open in the day time as well as in the evening. The financial poiition of the club, as shown by the balance •heet, is very good. This is very satisfactory considering that the olub has lately been at some considerable expense in furnishing the new room. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year : — President, Dr Stenhouse (re-elected) ; vice-presi-dents, Meisrs Beeves (re-elected) and Grinsted ; treasurer, Mr J. B. Borton; secretary Mr F. V. Siedeberg; committee— Messrs Angus, Mouat, Irvine, Oolclough, Blder, and Hastings ; finance committee —Messrs Hastings, Colclough, and I | Grinsted; match and handicap committee— Dr Stenhouse, Meisrs Mouat and Siedeberg. The meetI ing then closed with a unanimous vote of tbaaks to the chair. One of the committee is in attendance at the clubroom every afternoon' to interview or correspond with Intending members.
