•contain, or it may be absorbed. The Inflammation may attack the bone, leading to ulceratlon ending •in cnloareons deposits. Sometimes at the beginning by applying a strong elastic bandage for two hours twice a day each day, thereafter leaving it •on a little longer until the animal can bear it continually, it may be made to disappear, but this should be discontinued if it causes inflammation of the sac. Some practitioners recommend puncturing the swelling ; others lnjeot a weak solution of iodine. Hest should be allowed, with strong cooling astringent lotions at first, until the inflammation is subdued, and subsequently a smart blUter, or even firing may in some cases be beneficial, with six months' run at grass. Mimihau.— lt will be very difficult to reduce the' swelling on your foal's knee altogether. It is likely to be an eyesore for life. Blister with biniodide of mercury ointment, and repeat it after the skin has reoovered— say in 21 days. W. W.— The came of the founder also caused the miscarriage. Take off the shoes, pare the soles, and poultice the feet. Administer a laxative and also poultice the aboess between the jaw until it forms mutter, and feed on soft food, keeping her in a comfortable loose box with plenty of litter.
