FARMERS' UNION.

The Exeoutive Committee of the Farmers' Union of New Zealand, held a meeting in the Shamrock Hotel, Dunedin, on the Bth lost., the president (Mr G. M. Bell) being in the chaij. The Secretary reported that he had not received any repliei from the farmers' clubs to the questions approved of by this committee to be submitted to candidates, He bad much pleasure in stating that the Tokomairiro Farmers' Olub and the T&pauui A. and P. Association had joined the union since the last meeting. The President submitted a draft letter to the Premier on railway matters requiring attention, with the view to reducing rates and fares generally, to assist and extend the settlement of the country. This letter was approved of, and the president authorised to represent the views of the executive before a committee in Wellington, ahou'd ono be formed on railway matters. Mr John D. Bitchie's resignation of his seat on the Executive Committee was receive<Land accepted.
