TO OOBBBSPOIfDBNTS, The Hook, Wellington. — It was on Boxing Day of 1882 that Fishhook broke his leg and received his quietus. Maobi Boy, Dunedin.— So far as is known, the first raoe meetiug in New Zealand was that held in Wellington on October SO, 1812. The ohief event was a sweepstake of 10gs, won by Mr Watt's horse Figaro. O. G., Oaroaru.— When The Agent was five years old he won more money for the season than any horse in the colony bar Maritsna and Pinflre. Crib, Bdendale —Twenty-nine is the highest, composed of three fives and a jack, with a five turned up of the same suit as the jack. The hand counts 10 for fifteens, 12 for pairs, and ono for his nob.
