THE QAMARU ENCAMPMENT.
The arrangements for the volunteer encampment have now been completed. The camp will be in an 80-acre paddock, 40 acres of which have been covered with tents, &c. The camp is well sheltered on all sides by thick bilts of trees. Three hundred tents have been erected, besides marquees, hospitals, cooking houses, canteens, &c.
Accommodation has been provided for over 2500 men. The hussars will ba camped on the show ground, where the covered stalls can be utilised for the horses. The Naseby men are marching over the mountains to Oamaru.
The Dominican nuns purpose starting a kindergarten at Oanaaru.
