THE KAKANUI RELIEF FUND.

We have received the following further subscriptions for the Kakanui relief fund : —

An Invercargill telegram states that the Kakanui fund there now amounts to £203 2s Bd, with Borne subscriptions yet to come in. The mayor has been authorised to pay Mra Watson (the only person affected there by the disaster) 10« a week, and it was resolved to call a meeting of subscribers to decide on the future administration after the Dunedin committee report what course they intend to follow. Committees hava been appointed to inquire into the necessities of the claimants, and to devise a scheme for the apportionment of the fund.
