Chess Items. Brisbane. — A short time ago Mr Wallace, of the Brisbane Ohe«s Club, gratified a few members by an impromptu exhibition of blindfold play. He engaged in two games simultaneously against two players of average skill, and won with ease in both oases— in faot, some of the onlooker* maintained that Mr Wallace plays just as well sans voir as with the board and men before him His preoision is surprising. In one game he was generously reminded that his queen was in danger of being taken by a pawn, but Mr Wallace rejoined that if the queen were aaptu'ed his opponent would suffer mate in three moves, and an analysis of the position proves this to be correct.- Queeoslander.
