Gleniffer won the Northern District ol Fife premium in 1875, third prize at the Highland Sooiefey's Show at Glasgow, and second at Aberdeen in 1875 and 1876 respectively. Grand-dam Paisley Nancy (208, vol ii), by Tom Carstalrs (879, vol i) ; Paisley Nancy was very successful In the show ring, gaining fourth prize at the Highland Society's Show at Glasgow in 1875, when eleven years old, and was about the first at all local.shows. G. grand-dam Jess, the noted Dalrioch mare. Pure Blood (1273, vol II) was got by Lofty (460, vol i), winner of the Dalbeattle premium in 1870 and 1871. In the Province of Canterbury Pnre Diamond gained second prize at the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Show in 1885, and first in 1886; also first in 1887, and sptcial for the best herse travelling in the distriot ; also third at Chriitchurch in 1887, competing against eight of the beifc itftlliont in the colony, his yearlings also gained Miles nnd Co 's apcelal'prize of 10 guineas the same year for the best group of four yearlings got by any draught horse, open to all New Zealand.
