WELLINGTON A.A. CLUB'S SPORTS. Wellington, November 30.
The Amateur Athletic Club held a most successful meeting yesterday, there being large attendance and keen competition. Mr H. Batger, New Zealand's hurdler, put up the colonial record for 120 yds hurdles, which he got over in 16 l-ssec, and that with a poor pace-maker. The following are the results : — Maiden, 100 yds, A.M. Johnston, 37ft sin (including 7ft handicap) ; Half Mile Handicap, C. J. Hickson (60yds), 1 ; J. C. J. Cooper (40yds), 2 ; J. B. Mills (50yds), 3 ; time, 2min 5 l-ssec ; Inter-College Race, 250 yds, won by J. Mcßride ; E. Smith, 2 ; R. Fay, 3 (all pupils of St Patricks College) ; 120 yds Hurdles Handicap, W. Turnbull (15yds) ; time, 17sec ; Ladies' Bracelet, C. J. Hickson (40yds), 1 ; J. N. Gurr (20yds), 2 ; O.Richardson (30yds), 3; One Mile Handicap, C. J. Cooper (40vds), 1 ; J. A. Marchant (100 yds), 2; Melder (scratch), 3 ; time, 4min 47 2-ssec ; F. G. Eimbell won the One, Three, and Five Mile Handicaps.
