WEEKLY PRODUCE SALE.
Messrs Lobir and Box, auctioneers and commission agents, High street, Dunedin, report for the week ending 12th November as follows :—
Poultry : Plentiful. At our usual weekly sale the following prices ruled :-Hena, 2s 7d to 3s Bd, average 3s; cooks, 2s 4(1 to 4s lid, average 3s Hid; duoks, 5s 3d to 5s lOd, average 5s 6d ; turkeys, 7fd, No geese forward. Oats: Dull. Bright feed, Is 2|d, Is 3|d ; off colour. Is Id to Is 2d. Potatoes : Very scarce ; 40s easily obtained for prime. We have been appointed sole agents to the Peninsula Farmers' Association, and can supply newly-dug kidneys to order. Present price, 2d. Green pease, 2Jd. Salt butter: Very little inquiry ; inferior unsaleable; newly salted, 6d. As agents for a locnl factory we can supply very prime in linos of not less than five boxes at 8d (boxes 4s). Fresh butter: Firmer. Eggs : Not so plentiful. Hams and bacon : Dull ; 4d, 5d for inferior, to 6d, 6id prime. Prime pigs: Up to 1201b, 3 jd ; heavier. 3d, ,>nd very hard to sell. If pigs are sent us without previout advicos we have much difficulty in disposing of them. Cheese: NothiDg good in the market, liabbitukins: Firm at last quotations. Springs, lOd to Is ; late winters, 15d ; any really prime winters bring up to 18d. Sheepskins : Merino, Is 7d to 4s 6d ; crossbred a, 4s to 5s 9d. Hides, ljd to 3.1. Fruit.— We land 150 oranges and 20 lemons ex Hauroto next Friday, and quote 12s. Orders should c sent in at once.
