(acting under instructions from Mr John Bruce) held a clearing sale of the owner's dairy stock, as also many horses, implements, Ac, at the Henley farm. There was a large attendance, but owing to the fact that most of the cows were somewhat backward in calf, prioes were rot high. All the owner's stook, however, with the exception of one or two horses, including between 30 or 40 head of dairy cows, as also about 30 head of young stock for various owners, were sold. In sheep they diepoied of a first-class line of crossbred hoggets Rb 14s, full-mouthed ewes at 13s, and a few horses at prices equal to town rates. Store Cattle.— There is a good demand for wellgrown three and four-year-old bullocks suitable for Knglish grass paddocks. But few of this description are offering ; while young growing cattle are in over tupplyand dlffioult of sa<e. Best bullocks may be quoted from £4 to £5 10s; medium, £3 to £3 10s; ; Inferior, 20s to 40s. ,

Store Sheep.— Now that we are so close on shearing very few transactions are taking placa in this, description of stook, but there are large inquiries for theep off shears, and we expect a good demand as soon as shearing becomes general. Wool.— Very little changing hands. The local tales have been fixed for 11th and 12th December iind Bth and 9th January. ■ , Sheepskins.— Full catalogues weresubmitted at the usual weekly auction sales on Tuesday, when the trade were well represented Butcher's green half bred and • crossbred, best, brought Bs, 7s 9d, 7s Bd, 7s 7d. 7s 6d, 7s 3d. 7s Id, 6« lid, 6s 9d, 6s 7d. 6s 3d ; good to medium and inferior, 6s, 5s lOd, 5s Bd, 5s 6d, 5s 4d, 5s i • d,58 Id, 4s lOd, 4s 7d, 4s 6d ; green merinos, 6s Bd, 5s 6d, 5s 4d, 5s Id, sa, 4s lid, 4s 9d, 4s 7d, 4s 4d, 4s 2d, , 3s lid, 3s Bd, 3s 4d ; green pelts, 1b 4d, la 2d, Is, lid, lOd, 9d, Sd ; lambskins. Rabbitskins. — The season for these is now drawing to a close, theTcataloguei offering comprising only odd i lots, very few of whioh are winter skins, nearly all j coming to hand being spring saved, with some half- j grown and ioferior sorts. A good demand still exists, | and although good winters have the preference and realise prices quite equal to the highest obtaining during the season, all other deioriptlons are saleable, • and bring very satisfactory prices considering the j uncertainty of the market at Home. Quotations for , prime winter grey, thin-pelted. Is 6d to Is 7d;, medium, Is4d to Is sd; spring skins, Is to Is 3d ; inferior to medium. 6d to lOd; blacK and fawn full- , furred, lOd to Is Id ; infer! ir, 5d to 9d ; suckers and' half-grown, 2d to 4d per lb. , Hides. — Values for these remain unchanged.' Ordinary country lots coming forward are not readily sold owing to them being all small and light. Prime heavy ox are scarce, and command up to 3d per lb ; medium, 2d to 2Jd ; light, ljd to lfd ; Inferior and damaged, ]£d. Tallow. — For the last few weeks tallow has been in short supply, and all lots to hand have baen readily taken up by local manufactures at full rates. Prime rendered lots suitable for shipment are also in request. We quote best rendered mutton 20s to 21s per cwt ; medium, 17s to 18s; inferior to mixed, 14s to 16s; mutton caul, 14s; rough fat, Us to 12s ; inferior, 10s to 10a 6d. Grain.— Wheat : Owing to the dullness of trade and ?o little shipping going on duriug the strike, our local millers have large supplies of flour on hand

and several have shut down their mills for a time until stocks are reduced. This has interfered considerably with the demand, and there is at the at present time only an odd inquiry for small paroels of very prime quality for mixing purposes, medium qualities being entirely neglected. We quote prime Tuscan, 3s 9d to 3s lOd ; do velvet, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ;. medium, 3s Sd to 3s 6d; best red, 3s fid; medium, 3s 3d to 3s 4d; inferior, 3s. — Oats: Bright milling and short feed are Inquired for, but Danish, aud off - colour lots are dull of sale. Grass Seed. -The season is now praotlcally over. Occasional small lots of ryegrass seed aro still being disposed of, but the butiness done is on a very small scales The market, however, is pretty well cleared out ; holders are not disposed to quit at prices very much below those lately current. At the same time it would be aiffioulb to place any quantity, except at a price very considerably under those previously obtaining. We quote for best medium dressed, 4s 9d to ss ; farmers' dressed— best, 3s 6d to 4s ; medium, 2s 9d to 3s 3d (ex atore). Oookafoot has some inquiry, but the business resulting is not extensive. Quotations : 4d to 4ld per 1b (ex store). Potatoes. - The market is now quite bare of good, fresh-picked lots, and very few coming forward. A good demand exists, and no difficulty experienced in placing all coming to hand in good condition at from 65s to 70s per ton (saoks weighed in). Ohaff. — Deliveries have not been quite so heavy during the pisf. week, -sales in o jnaeqiltence have been more easily effected, with prices slightly firmer. We quote best 40s to 42s 6d ; inferior to medium, 30s to 37s 6d per ton.

Dairy Produce.— The market continues exceedingly quiet, no movement of any consequence to be noted. Factory cheese, medium size, can be placed at 4d to 4^l, loaf 4jd, but only in l'mited quantities. Butter ia coming into the market very freely, a considerable portion of which it being snlted down, and is being disposed of when the opportunity offers at from 6d to 7d, extra prime up to 8d per lb, chief! v for local requirements, their being no demand for shipment.
