A BROKE N HEART' S REGRET.
Another's now ; the die i« cast, Move's brightest, dre :m for me is past, Though lile's before me yet A loveless duty's now my aim,— I only lung to live for fame ; Since I refused to take thy name I live but to regret. I loved thee madly, love thee still ; At thy dear narao my heartstrings thrill.
Ah, how can I forget Thy loving words < pok« at the gate Stamped on my heart ; biifc all too late They came, and now, alas 1 sad fate,
I live but to regret. I think of thee, and oft in dreams Of days gone by to me it seems That I am with tbee yet. I coo again, just for a while, Thy blaming eye and loving smile, And thsm I wake to brave the trial, — I live but to regret. My heart U heavy, «eary sore, Each joy has passed with dayß of yoro ; My star of hone is set. We met, we luve'l as few e'er can ; Great was our bliss though brief its span, As blindly on to fate I ran : I live but to regret.
