OUTRAM.

Oci 1 ekr 2.— The monthly meeting of the Outram Boid Board was hold on Monday, and attended by Mes3r3 Fleming, James, and John Allan. The genera! farthing rate for the year ending 31st March 1891 waa struck over tha whole of the road district. Mr John Allan reported that the bridge on the road line near bis place was in a dangerous condition, the wood being completely rotten. After considering the matter it was agreed, instead of erecting a wooden bridge again, to put in two rows of 12in pipes, level down the banks, and make a level crossing of it. Mr John Allan was appointed to see the work carried out. A petilion was received from ratepayers in the Henley subdivision which urged the board *' to erect a bridge on Duck creak, on the road line, so as to give access to Otakia railway station. The old bridge, we understand, is on private property, and the gate on it is now locked, so that all commuuicatlon with Otakia railway station is now stopped. You will therefore see the awkward position we are placed ia <\.id the urgent necessity that exists for immediate .iff s being taken in erecting a bridge." There being ouly one ot the Henley members present, consideration of the petition was deferred till next meeting. Accounts amounting to £11 12s 3d were passed for payment, and the meeting then adjourned. The meeting then adjourned. Water Supply.— The voting for or against providing a water supply for the town of Outram resulted in a majority ot six in favour of providing a water supply.
