Mr R. Andrew, general secretary of the Miners' Association, writes to the Grey River Argus that while only 194 coal hewers are in the mine, 492 persons altogether are engaged. Tbe average weekly wage of the 194 since the lObh March last has been £2 10s to £3 6s per week each. The men's average Dumber of days worked during the same period is 11 days per fortnight, and the average during the last year a little over seven days per fortnight.
