Constant Beaded, Lawrence.— You should lose no
time in having your cow examined by an expert, ns the foot is liable to become deformed and permanently lame. Shepherd.- (1) Distemper in dogs may attaqk any of the internal organs, or the whole system may 1 be involved, in which ease it is difficult to effect a cure. Therefore, the treatment to be successful must be varied According to the part affected and the constitution of the animal. It is impossible to give one> prescription to cure every case, and at present there is n» known preventive (2) Healthy sheep in New Zealand can live on green pasture
without drinking any water. Novice.— (l) Grease on' horses' heels is generally caused by filth or improper feeding or from exposure in bad weather. Put tho animal in a clean, comfortable stable, change his food, administer 4dr Rloea, aud use the following lotion to his heels j— Sulphate of zino, 6dr ; acetate of lead, loz ; water. 1 pint ; applied once'a day. (3) One pound phosphorous to 1001b of oats and lOgaljof water is tbe strength generally used for rabbit poison. It may bo prepared in an iron cask made specially for the purpose, and whioh may be procured at any ironmonger's, 'l he phosphorlsed grain is ready for use 21 hours after mixing.
