THE STOCK REPORT.

The stock report was tabled to-night. The Otago inspector states :— Health of stock very good. Lambing extra prolific, dip satisfactory. Keaa troublesome in the baok country. Feed abundant, but 'a scarcity dreaded in winter through drought.— -A large increase in the export of frozen mutton. The rabbit inspeotor for Otago reports a rapid increase of rabbits in town and country, but no£ on the hills. The use of grain poisoned with strychnine for the destruction of small birds is killing numbers of oats and other natural enemies of rabbits.
