Constant Reader, Seaeliff.— Worms of varloui kinds are often found in the alimentary canal of horses, and frequently glverise to diseases iuoh ai indigestion, tetanus, enteritis, and oolio; and every practitioner has his own specifio for removing them. The kind affecting your fllly may be eradicated by administering ljdr gentian, ldr assafcetida in loz of ether, repeated for four or five consecutive mornings, followed by 2dr of aloes ; at the same time give plenty of good sound food with a dry sheltered paddook. B.B.— Splints on horses' legs are exostdshon the bone, and by examination after death it may be seen that only in few cases can they be altogether removed. They may be reduced by rest and repeated blisters. Fabmbr. Ifyour colt had been professionally treated wben the injury was newly done It would probaMy have healed up more kindly. It ie a great mistake to neglect, or apply improper medicinal remedies, as they only retard Nature in repairing the Injury, causing unhealthy action to be set up in the part, which Is extremely difficult to counteract. Usa sulphate of zinc, 66T; acetate of lead, loz; water, one pint. Mix, and apply twice a day. A. M'K.— lt would be necessary to examine your sheep, and ascertain whether the blindness pro* ceeds from Inflammation of the eye or from congestion of the membranes and eyelids, which Fb otten a symptom of a tendency to scabies. It may also arise from catarrh, which is prevalent during sudden changes of temperature, such aa exposure to Inclement wtatber after shearing or from over heating In yarding or overdriving, or confined to exposed paftures. The tieatment consists in placing the animals In a sheltered jaddock where they cannot get drowned!or fall over precipices, and eently bathe the anVcted eyes with tepid water, opening the eyelids which are staled with matter, and japphing a decoction of opium and a little olive oil until lecovery.
