Millers' lines have ruled during the week as follows:—Flour, £8 6s to £8 15s per ton; oatmeal, £8 10s per ton ; chaff, 40s to 45s per ton ; bran, £3 per ton; pollard, £4 per ton; pearl barley, £16 10s per ton.
The number of frozen sheep shipped at Oamaru for the year ending 30th Jane was 100,284,- giving the average net weight of 5,886,8431b, and 19,023 lambs weighing 652,5781b ;— total carcases shipped 119,307, besides a quantity of beef, kidneys, game, &o. It is worthy of note that 11,000 of the sheep and lambs were railed alive from the South for killing at Eveline. The average weight of the sheep killed at Oamaru was 58'691b and lambs 34*301b, as against 60561b and 37931b for Burnside. The increase in the number of animals dealt with at the works this year as compared with 1889 was equal to 19,695. The number awaiting shipment at the freezing works 1b about 19,000, and these will be forwarded by the Mamari and Fifeshlre, now due.— Oamaru Mail. Through Messrs Thomson, Bridger, and Co. we have received the following report of the Hamburg butter market on April 25, which should prove interesting:—"Demand being brisk, the quotation for prime butter was raised to 110s. Second quality and medium are wanted, but are very scarce, while old and faulty are difficult to sell ; for fresh and fine piece butter the demand is good from 68s t> 725. This week's supply of American butter (600 kegs) was quiokly placed, although the quality was not good Prime butter, 108s to Ills ; medium, 100s to 108s ; French medium, 95s to 100s. Duty not paid: Galician fresh, 68s to 725 ; Russian, 65s to 70s ; Polish packed, 65s to 70s ; American dairy, 60s t> 60s; do ladled, 35s to 405." Messrs James Samson and Co. on Monday off * red for sale by public auction the remaining two and a-half years*lease of the Palace Skating Rink in Mora* place, but there were no buyers present, and the lease was passed in. The lease forms part of the bankrupt estate of Mr H. Benjamin, finanoier. Mr Henry Lamer reports the sale of a farm containing 80 acres and house, near Palmerston, to Mr Crawford for the sum of £476. Messrs Dolgety and 00. have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, July 4 :— " New Zealand rabbltskins : Firm, without change in prices. Wheat: Market firm." Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cablegram from their London office, under yesterday's date :— " Since our last telegram the wheat market 1b 6d higher. Continual rains have fallen."
The National Mortgage and Agenoy Company of New Zealand ( Limited) report:— Our London office cables on 4th inst. : " Wheat, July shipment, 34s 6d O.i.f. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 9th lnst. :— " Wheat : Market firm. The weather is unfavourable for tho crop here. New Zealand average is worth 35s 6d and New Zealand long-berried 37s per 4961b. New Zealand wheat f.a.q., to arrive iron ship, is worth c.i.f .'3ss 6d per 4801b (May-June bill of lading)."
