The revised rnlea for Resident Magistrates' Courts under " The Abolition of Imprisonment for Debt Act 1874" are published in the Gazette; also the amended regulations, under which commissions in the British army may be obtained by officers of the colonial military forces. In these it is stated that until further notice two army commissions will be allotted annually to each of the following colonies: — New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, New Zealand, the Cape, six to Canada, and one to Tasmania. The appointment of Major Gudgeon as judge of the Native Land Court and Trust Commissioner under the Native Land Frauds Prevention Act is gazetted along with Colonel Hnme's appointment as commissioner of police. A fresh budget of decisions under the Tariff Act is gazetted.
