THE OTAGO HOUNDS.
This pack was to have met on Saturday at Elccarton, but owing to the inclemenoy of the weather a substitute was provided— whioh fortunately was productive of a good afternoon's eport-over the farm of Mr Maogregor, Ooretorphine. Owing to the uninviting appearance of the elements the attendance was small, comprising some six or seven straight goers with about 90 other horsemen on the roads and viewing the proceedings, including two or three ladies and a four-horse drag— a very neat turn out of chestnuts and greys, driven by Mr K. Parker. Mr Bowen was on a grey ; Mr W. Maodonald, Maxwelton; Mr R. Allen, Mohawk ; Mr Scott, a clever bay ; Mr G, Smith, Montengle; Mr Mouat, Julian; Mr Faulkner. Orlando ! Mr Hayes, Timber-topper. The slippery nature of the ground was the cause of several spills, although fortunately no great damage waa done. Maxwelton came to grief twioe, and Mr Scott got a nasty spill. One post and rail was sufflclently high and strong, to test the capabilities of the cleverest of the hunters and the nerve of their riders ; but though these drawbaoks kept some in the rear who might have been In the front, two very good runs were jt°t through, and on the whole very satisfactorily to the followers.
