DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.

A meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club was held on Thursday evening; present — Messrs Stephensou (in the chair), Wilson, Hazlett, Gourley, Dowse, Fleming, Driver, Taggart, Meenan, Cook, and L, Maclean. DUNEDIN HUNT CLUB. The Secretary (on behalf of the Programme Committee) brought up the programme of the Huut Club meeting to be held on the 12 th and 13th of September, which was received and adopted, and it was resolved that in the trotting races the time of each horse be taken separately, [ and that this should be stated in the regulations of the programme. A donation of £100— the same as last yearwas voted to the Dunedin Hunt Club. TRAINING FEES. It was resolved that in future the fee should be £1 for each horse from the Ist July to the I 30th June in the following year, and that no reduotion be made for horses said to be training for one meeting only. The usual allowance of one week free for horses coming from a distance before each meeting to be continned, |time of closing enteies. A letter was received from the secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Olub stating that for ! this season they intended to close their entries | at 4 p.m., and asking the D.J.C. to co-operate. It was resolved that the time of closing at 10 p.m. be adhered to, and that the C.J.C. be informed that the principal reason for this decision is that the North train arrives at 9 p.m., and if D.J.C. entries dosed at 4 p.m. it would practically mean the day before for some owners, and many entries would be forgotten and lost. NEW ZBAtAND JOCKS? CLUB. The letter from Mr H. M. Lyon, actingsecretary of the conference of racing delegates proposed to be held in Wellington (already referred to in our columns), was read, and it was reßolved— " That the Hon. G. M'Lean and Mr Driver be appointed delegates of tbe Duuedin Jockey Club to attend the conference proposed to be held in Wellington on the 15th August, with instructions that the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club are unanimously of opinion that there is no necessity for the formation of such an institution as a New Zealand Jockey Club, and will nob allow auy combination of representatives from other clubs to interfere with them in the management of their own affairs." TROTTING EULE3. The Secretary reported that he had received the rules of the Victoriau Trotting Club, and also thoso of the New Zoaland Trotting Association; aud.as it was proposed that our trotting races in future bhould be run under the rules of the New Zealand Trotting Association, he as>ked that a sub-committee be appointed to consider these rules.— Kesolved that Messrs Fleming, Taggart, and Dowse be appointed lor that purpose. MISCELLANEOUS. Resolved—" That the Programme Committee meet on July 1 to consider the full reason's programme." Mr H. J. Smerdon was elected a gentleman riclßr. The cases of the boys Adam King and W. Lardner were considered, aud it was resolved to postpone further consideration of both for a short ime. Messrs Cook and Driver were appointed a sub-committee to draw up a form of agreement bebween employers and their stable boyd or jockeys, as a bigued agreement of this nature put before metropolitan clubs would speak for itself in case of dispute butween employer aud employe. A lebtir was received from the Wintou Glub complaining of the chacge made for advertising the race programme in the Witness as the official organ of the club.— The secretary was instructed to reply that the charge complaint d of was the same as that paid by the Dunedin Jockey (Jlub. It is stated that Constable Griffiths is to be transferred from Lumsden to Moagiel.
