A statement of assets and liabilities inthebankrupt J estate of H. Benjamin aud Co., financiers, of Mame j street, was lodged with the official assignee jester day afternoon ; and also a statement in the separate estate of Samuel Jaooba, tobacconist nud fanoy goods merohant, of Princes street. The statement of H. Benjamin and Co. showed tho firm's liabilities to be £7267 14s lid and the 4 assetß £11,953115, the estate showing an apparent surplus The assets consist of book debts, £9714 (estimated to produce £7000) ; cash in hand. £7 5 furniture in office, £100 ; surplus from securities in the hands of secured oreditors, £4846 11s ;— total estimated value of assets, £11,953118. The unsecured oreditors are as follow t—uouia, Beaumont, and Co. (Ohrhtohurch), ooal merchants, £10 4s;— total, £7267 Tho secured creditors are the Bank of New South Wales and the Bank of Australasia. The amount of the former's debt Is £3672 165, and the securities are as follow:— Promissory notes, with relative securities, £5702 11s lOd; Melbourne property, £1200; other properties and shares, £1036 Us 6d ; overdue promissory notes, £145 12s 6d; -total amount of securities, £8084 15s lOd. The Bank of * ustralasia s debt amounts to £2001 8s 6d, and their security (consisting of a mortgage over 142J acres of freehold land at Tuturau, Southland) is valued at £2436 0s sd. S. Jacobs. The leparate estate of Samuel Jacobs shows his debts to be £1486 10s 6<i and his assets £4702 14s 10U, there being a surplus of £«16 4s 4d. The assets are as follow :-Stock-in-trade, £4000; book debts, £344 13s Id (estimated to produce £317' 7s 9d); cash in hand, £30 12s 8d; surplus from securities in the hands of secured oreditors. £854 14s < sd ; - total, £4702 14s lOd. The total secured debts amount to £2710 7s Id ; and the total estimated value of the securities is £3065 laid. •■
