MERCANTILE MARINE OFFICERS. Wellington, July 1.
The difficulty between the Mercantile Marine Officers' Association and shipowners is still unsettled. The association expects to receive a defiuite reply from the employers in a day or two, and the committee will then decide whether the scheme submitted by owners shall be accepted as a final settlement. The Auckland railway servants have taken up the cause of the operative bakers.
