OAMARU BOWLING CLUB.

The following report was read at the annual meeting of the Oamaru Olub, held last weeks— " The past season began as early as the 27th September, when the opening match was played, and the green wai kept open lor play until the 24th May ; so that the members have had an unusually long season, and your oommittee think a very aobive and successful one. It has been specially noteworthy on account of the Duuediu Exhibition Carnival and the visit to Oamaru of a team of bowlers from Viotoria. During the season we contested seven matohoa with other clubs, wluningthree and losing four. In the Association Medal matches wa were drawn against the Naseby Olub, but unfortunately that club were uqableto accept our challenge; the medal, however, becomes ours, uuder the association's conditions. The Champion Cup for the year was won by Mr Dowling. We are pleased to welcome six new members, who joined us einoe last meeting. The committee very heartily congratulate the members upon the financial results of the year. In co: sequence of the very generous help accorded by members and friendß of the olub, the treasurer has been able to reduce the mortgage debt by £50, in addition to meetIng unusually heivy expenditure on ordinary and special account. As the balance sheet shows, we began the year with £5 6s lOd in band, and colleotod during the term the handsome sum of £126 15s 3d. The ordinary expenditure came to £64 13s 3d, and the special outlay for sundry improvements and the reduction of the funded debt was £68 17b Bd. The benefits resulting from this year's work will be felt in the future, and the committee desire to record their dv« appreciation of the libnrallty of members and friends who have so kindly assisted to place the finances of the olub in suoh a satisfactory condition." The following officers were elected for the next year:— President, Mr MolliBon ; secretary and treasurer, Mr Dowllng; committee — Measri Xouug, Tmrpie, and Martin.
