HINDON.

Junk 24.— A public meeting was held on Monday night at the school for the purpose of considering the new road leading to the station. The principal road leading to the centre of the district has never been finished, nnd even the patt that was finished is bo badly cut up that a cart can scarcely be got up and down. Mr Thomson occupied the chair, and it was unanimously decided that the chairman should draw up a petition and get it signed by those interested in this part of the road, and send it to the member for the district. It was also decided to'draw the attention of the Taieri County Council to the fact that no surfaceman has been on the road for a considerable time, and reootnmending that the preference should be given to a Hindon man Bunny.— The rabbits are taking the poison very well, and their numbers have been materially reduced.
