LAWRENCE.
Junb 17.- The Tuapeka Rifles fired the first competiti <n on Thursday and Saturday last for a silver cup presented to them by Captain M'Keich. The conditions of the competitions are -. That it shall be a handicap, the winner to gain 21 points or more ; points to count as usual. Ranges— 2oo, 300, and 500 yards ; five shots at each, with one sighter. Twenty men competed. The following are the six highest scorers: -

It may be mentioned that Captain M'Keich fired, his score being 22, 15, 18, scr- 55; but as he is not competing his eoore does not appear in the above list. In addition to the cup range prizes of Is are given to the highest scorer off tbe rifle in each competition.
