Materials for Forcing Rhubarb and Seakale.

Tha preparation of the materials for forcing is a comparatively simple matter, and those who are anxious to have an early supply can do so with successful lesulfcs if the following hints are observed. If stable manure is at command, no better course can be carried out than to place it in a heap to stimulate fermentation, and to turn it two or three times to facilitate the escape of the noxious exhalations. If the .manure is dry, and not inclined to ferment readily, a few pailfule of water should be thrown upon it during the proo&sss of turning. Water should not be too freely used, as it sometimes prevents the manure fermenting, and, instead of being a well-heated heap of manure suitable for the purpose it is intended for, it is a mass of cold decaying manure, fit only for the use of the land ; therefore, it ia necessary to be very cautious in the use of water, especially at this time of the year, when the atmosphere ia cold and ungenial. _ Any leaves or litter about the premises that is useful for mixing with the manure, should be added when the heap is being formed, and it nuay be well to mention that leaves may be added to any quantity up to an equal proportion.
