AMATEUR ATHLETIC RECORDS.
Cook, who has made a name for himself in local amateur athletic circles, will proceed to Sydney with the New Zealand representative team to take part in the championship meeting, I
(Turf, Field, and Farm.) We continue this week publishing a lfstof the beat amateur running recorda. Quite a number of changes occurred last season in these records, and a glance at some of the figures will show that there are men on the path to-day in both England and America who should be considered as fast for amateurs as any who have yet placed figures to their credit. Attention is specially called to the performances in the neighbourhood of three miles of J. Kibblewhite, of England [thii issue}. W D. DaY» 10-mile figures of America, and those of Sidney Thomas made in this country between 10 and 15 miles [next week]. In many of these cases the runner had not the best of circumstances concerning weather and track to favour him. Thete records, like others which wp have previously published, are valuable for reference and comparison.
