Tbe demand for ploughmen has acarcely begun, but couples, shepherds^ milkers, gardeners, grooms, &c, are moving. The close of the Exhibition haa set a good many hands adrift — attendants and hotel servants. Late wages : Cooks, 20s and 255 ; couples, £65 to £70 and £75 ; shepherds, £55 to £60 ; ploughmen, 20s ; second ploughmen, 15s and 17s 6d ; grooms, 15s and 255 ; gardeners, 25s and 30a ; milkers, 10s, 12s, 15s, and 20s. Babbiters vary very much. Town boys, 5s to 10s.
