April The following are the batteiy returns for the pait week:—Globe, 10930z amalgam from 190 tons; Keep-it-Dark, 2160z amalgam from 198 tons; Fiety Cross, 1730z amalgam from 96 tons; No. 2 South Keep-it-Dark, 61oz amalgam from 32 tonB; Inglewood, 70oz amalgam from-55 tons. Globe.—The splendid return yesterday afternoon caused quite a buzz of excitement. The directors have declared a dividend of Is, which will leave £100 on hand. The distance driven on the reef in the lower level is 121 ft. The last end has been extended only 35ft, md the west end 88ft from the centre of the chamber. Ihe reef in the west end in the face is 6ft Gin, and they will start driving east on Tuesday. The reef is very large, about 17ft on the face; all the faces are carrying splendid gold. The amount of retorted gold it 6420z 12dwt from 711 tons. SEW HOY BIG BMAOH COMPANY. The manager of the Sew Hoy Big Beach Company (MrD. Mason) telegraphed on Saturday advhing a return of 187oz amalgam for the fortnight. A telegram received on Monday advised a yield of H6oz of retorted gold for the fortnight. SPHB FAIR MAID GOLD MINING COMPANY, LIMITED. The Fair Maid Gold Mining Company report that for the week ending 23rd in»fc. Si hours' sluicing yielded 130oz of amalgam. UNITED HEROULBS HYDRAULIC SLUICING COMPANY (LIMITED). Mr John Mouat lias received a telegram from Mr Burton, the secretary of the company, stating that the washing up which took place on Monday last yielded 71oz 6dwt 12gr of gold, the value of whioh is £267 9s sd. This is for four and a-half days' sluicing. A stoppage was caused by the leaking of one of the pipe joints, and the work was stopped for a day and a-half in order to repair this, which has now been done.
