Wyllie Challenges Reed.
The Leader has issued the following challenge to Mr Reed, the American champion, on behalf of Mr Wyllie: Mr Wyllie will play Mr Reed 50 games at draughts, these 50 games to be either those openings which occurred in the last Heed-Barker match, or if it suits Mr Heed better, Mr Wyllie will select 12 openings and allow Mr Reed to select 13. The stakes for the Championship of the World ouglft not to be lew than £500 or 2500d01, but Mr Wyllie, to get on the match, will play for a stake of from £100 to JB3oo"as Mr Reed may determine, should he not be inclined to risk the full amount. Minor details can be arranged when Mr Reed has signified his intention to play the match . Any American cheov erist can be accommodated on the same terms.
