PROPOSED NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION IN LONDON.
Mr Jules Joubert has received by last mail a most encouraging and satisfactory communication from S'r Frederick Young, vice-president of the Royal Colonial Institute in London, m reply to his letter re the proposed New Zealand Exhibition. Ivter alia Sir F. Young says:— ■ " The information contained in your letter is of a very interesting and important character. The idea of holding an exhibition in London of the various products and industries of New Zealand could uot fail to attract my personal sympathy and good wishes. As, however, I have regarded your communication as addressod to me as one of the vice-presidents of the Royal Colonial Institute, I have takon the earliest opportunity of laying your letter before^ the council. I have been requested to reply to it on their behalf, and to convoy to you the expression of their sympathetic desire that the enterprising project yon have suggested may prove successful." Sir Frederick Young then proceeds to urge the importance of forming a special and powerful committee, both in New Zealand and London, in order to carry out the project, and also points out the absolute necessity of the scheme having the direct sanction aa well as pecuniary co-operation of the Government of New Zealand. This is an eminently satisfactory basis for the Government to consider the project upon.
