The time for the mile and a-quarter was 13min 45gec. < The Colonial crew won the Inrigged Four-oared Race as they liked, their only opponents being the Railway Rowing, Club's four. The distance, two miles and a-half, was done in 23min 37 2-5 6ec. At this week's committee meeting or the Dunedin Amateur Athletic Club, it was decided to postpone the autumn meeting for a fortnight, on accouut of the band marching contest held in' connection with the exhibition, and which takes place in the open air on • Saturday afternoon, March 15, the date previously fixed by the club. The club's meeting will now be held on March 29, and will allow those who hare only just commenced training more time to get into condition, A sculling match in outriggers has been arranged between B. Davis, jun., of Dunedin, and Peter Fletcher, of Port Chalmers, for £25 a side, over a course of three miles. The race is to be rowed on March 22, at St. Leonards.
A Christchurch telegram states that the committee of New Zealand Amateur Athletic Associatiom .have disallowed Batger's record of 16 l-sseo for 120 yds hurdles and Hempton's of 9 3-ssec for 100 yds. Shaw, Beeves, Hempton, Cuff, Morrison, White, and M'Kelvey, have promised to go to Sydney. Mr Cuff is to be manager. The committee decided to write to all clubs iequesting contributions towards the expenses of the team. O'Connor, the oarsman, is a passenger by the Mariposa to Sydney. He is coming to contest the championship. The Emperor William, and nine other guns, recently killed at Springe, near Hanover, 235 wild boar, 29 Btags, aDd, 21 roe deer. , As the Emperor shoots with, one hand only, the, shots were made as easy as possible for him. In one .of the deer forests belonging to Count Guido Henckel-Donriersmark, Count Alfred Walde'rsee ' has, during the past season, killed Mb hundred stags. A foreign friend tells us he thinks this beats an English recotd of 20,000 shots at turnips.
