Chrlstchubch, September 11.

Mr Wilson, chief engineer of the Midland Railway Company, in an interview to-day states that he is going to let contracts at once up to Reefton and towards Lake Brunner, and those for the work at the Springfield end as soon as he can get tenders out. As to the line at Belgrove, he will call for tenders as soon as he can get the survey plans completed. Regarding tbe land on the West Coast, he is going to offer every possible facility for settlement upon it — of cour6e at a fair price.
