EXHIBITION NEWS.
The executive have asked Messrs J. C. and G. M. Thomson, J. Wilkie, J. P. Maitland, and Professor Parker to draw jup a eoheme for a Fisheries Court.
At a meeting of the local committee at Invercargill cix members were appointed to canvass the town for subscriptions, with the view of ascertaining, before space is applied for, what support the committee is likely to receive, as the result of the effort to raise funds must necessarily govern the application for space. The following additional applications for shares have been received through the Ctnvajsihg Committee:— Smellie Bros., 10; C. T. P*tergou, 2; J. Reid and Sons, 20; Remßhwrdt and Co., 5; Anderson and Morrison, 10; H. J. Ainger, 5 ; Ret. W. Ronahfoon, 5 ; Howden and Moncrieff, 5; T. R. FUher, 10; A. W. Maoarthur, 5; J. and J. Arthur, 10 ; N. Dodgshun, 5; F. Smith and Co., 5; Collie and Pollen, 5"; Cole and Springer,. 2. A donation of £1 has been received from " E. S."
The tender of M'Leod and Shaw for the erection of four octagons (£213 10s) has been accepted. The share list and guarantee fund now reaches £14,776.
