The severe weather- has hindered the prompt delivery of the necessary timber, but .that difficulty has now been 'got- over. 'In a week or 10 .days all the boxes will Be finished, an* the race completed from end to end,! , The branch race 'is in all respects well and substantially constructed." The portion of the race consisting of & ground ditch was for the most part out in the Isolid rock: J 6hould itever be considered necessary ,to increase the water power' all that will 1 be required will be to carry the length of, pipes a little ' further, upi the hill. .The race now completed ; is of a height sufficient to give « pressure of nearly 1600 ft. Mr Burker reports 'that 'by the duo" of 'the week he expects" kf have all the pipes laid iand jointed tip to the end of the irace.
